About

Engaging the Church around the world

to Empower the Church in India

Who we are
GHI is a not-for-profit, tax-exempt mission organization with headquarters in Raleigh, North Carolina.

What we do
We exist to advance the gospel in India by engaging the church around the world to empower the church in India.

How we do it
We expose the needs and opportunities in India through our website, communications, speaking engagements, and by leading various teams to India multiple times each year.

We train and equip indigenous pastors in practical theology and evangelism.

With the support of global partners we coordinate village sponsorship projects that empower indigenous pastors with practical resources they need to develop their village. We show villages how to exercise ownership, sustainability, and accountability for solving their biggest problems.  We help provide clean drinking water, sanitation, and food as a means of advancing the gospel. This demonstrates how they can address other problems such as education, employment and medical care.

Why India
With 1.2 billion people India is about to exceed China as the largest nation in the world. Yet, unfortunately, India is already the poorest, neediest, and most unreached country on the planet. Half of the world’s orphans exist in India. Over 900,000 people a year die as a result of drinking unhealthy water and air pollution. India holds world records for HIV, TB, and leprosy. Over a billion people in India have never held a Bible. There are 500,000 villages without a single pastor, church, or exposure to the gospel.

We can’t even comprehend the need. In the USA there are 311 million people. Yet, in India there are over 400 million children under the age of 15. Most are malnourished and unhealthy subjected to inhumane poverty, sex-trafficking, child-labor, and other countless consequences of not knowing Jesus.

The hope for India lies in the advancement of the gospel. The youth of India have never been more open to the gospel than they are today.

The harvest is great, but the workers are few. In the USA there is 1 religious worker for every 187 people.  In India, there is 1 for every 78,000 people. In order for India to have the same exposure to the gospel as the USA would require 7 million workers. Join us in praying for God to add more laborers into the harvest field. Become a global partner and join GHI in being a part of the answer to this prayer!
