has served as a director of our company since November 2011. She currently serves as the Senior Manager of External Financial Reporting of LipoScience, Inc., an in vitro diagnostic company committed on advancing patient care in cardiovascular and other metabolic diseases through innovations in nuclear magnetic resonance diagnostics.

Prior to joining LipoScience in 2010, she was an Audit Manager in the assurance practice for Ernst & Young, LLP (or E&Y). She began her 8-year career with E&Y in 2003 as an Audit Associate and subsequently was promoted to Audit Manager in 2008. At E&Y, she worked with a variety of private and public clients including not-for-profit organizations. During her professional career, she has gained valuable financial expertise, including extensive knowledge of accounting, financial reporting, auditing and corporate governance in a wide variety of organizations and industries.

Mrs. Poulos received a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance, a B.A. in International Studies with a concentration in the Pacific Rim, and a M.S. in Accounting from North Carolina State University.

Mrs. Poulos is a certified public accountant and a member of both national and state organizations, including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants. She is also actively involved in the community as a Junior Achievement and Habitat for Humanity volunteer.
