Robert Hauser – June 26  2011

Right now we are on the bus, returning to the hotel. We have just finished leading a worship service at the orphanage that went spectacular! Tanner and Drew both delivered fantastic messages and Jay gave an excellent impromptu message, as he was alerted only a few minutes before that he had to speak. I also read a few scripture verses and Jenna gave her testimony which was awesome! It is amazing to see how the spirit works when we are all flexible.

Flexibility has become such an important aspect on this trip, and we constantly rely on God and see where the spirit leads us. The concert last night was truly one of the best experiences I have ever had. It is so awesome to worship alongside our Indian brothers and sisters and also pray with them. Though the crowd was not as Large as we expected it, the Lord was present and convicted many hearts.

I’m also really growing to enjoy the team, and they provide such an encouraging atmosphere for me to grow and experience new areas of my faith. It will be very hard leaving India, and if it was up to Me I don’t know if I’d ever want to leave. (sorry family) Though the sanitation and luxuries are not up to the American standard i really feel very focused. Being in a place where i do not know the language or culture forces me to depend on the lord and what an awesome feeling it is! I’m always used to being in control, something that India has stripped me of. The trade between an increased relationship with God and sparse American luxuries is well worth it. Material possessions provide so many distractions. I hope after I return home I will remember that.

As I was complaining about leaving India, a friend pointed out to me that there is also much work to be done. They said we can use the fire and passion we gain here to serve at home. I hope very much that our team will stay together even long after india serving the community in many different ways and converting many to Christ. We don’t have to be in India to do God’s work, we can perform the work of the kingdom anywhere in the world.

I am learning so much in India, and this has been one of the best experiences of my life. Though I have not even left, I am already looking forward to and praying for a chance to return.

  • Robert – I am so glad you are having a great experience and growing in your faith! It is so nice to see a post from you and see that you look well. We do miss you at home though. And we can help you with that material possessions issue … we can have a garage sale and just cart everything in your room down there …

  • It is awesome to hear how you have been moved by the Spirit on your journey, Bob. It will be awesome for you to use what God has taught you to “Be the Change” back home. I hope that you come by to share your God stories with us once you are back home!

  • Bob,
I am so glad you were able to go a mission trip and be used of the Lord. I appreciated your comments on how the Holy Spirit has been working through the team. I’m proud to know that a GRACE student is making a difference for others. Love and serve the Lord always – in India and at home.
    Mrs. Thompson
